Hey, I can get Chicago AM stations

I've gotten Boston AM stations in Philly before, yet today I was able to pick up on this Chicago AM radio station WBBM 780. That's not all, I also picked up WGN 720.

The distance between Chicago and Philadelphia is roughly 800mi/1287km, according to Google.

I check for patterns...

Something I need to learn or work today.. Here's a cheatsheet for
identifying what
netmasks, hosts and subnets are equivalent to.

NETMASKS, HOSTS, SUBNETS
/30 255.255.255.252 = 4 hosts = 64 subnets
/29 255.255.255.248 = 8 hosts = 32 subnets
/28 255.255.255.240 = 16 hosts = 16 subnets
/27 255.255.255.224 = 32 hosts = 8 subnets
/26 255.255.255.192 = 64 hosts = 4subnets
/25 255.255.255.128 = 128 hosts = 2 subnets
/24 255.255.255.0 = 256hosts = 1 subnet
/23 255.255.254.0 = 512 hosts = 2subnets
/22 255.255.252.0 = 1024 hosts = 4 subnets
/20 255.255.248.0 = 2048 hosts = 8 subnets
/19 255.255.240.0 = 4096 hosts = 16 subnets
/18 255.255.224.0 = 8192 hosts = 32 subnets
/17 255.255.192.0 = 16384 hosts = 64 subnets
/16 255.255.128.0 = 32768 hosts = 128 subnets
/15 255.255.0.0 = 65536 hosts = 256 subnets

aside: Note these special numbers in the IPv4 world
256(=2^8), 255, 254, 252, 248,240, 224, 192, 128, 0

Flash in website prevent keystrokes...

I don't know why this happens, but if a website has flash, I can't use keystrokes to control my browser. I'm currently using FireFox 3.x, It's been like this forever, so I don't think it's the browser version that's the issue. If you're on youtube, for example, and have the video playing, try to use the Alt-D, to access the address bar. You can't.. seems that flash is responding to your keystrokes. That's something I don't like at all. I want keystrokes to be browser specific only!

Weekly sales

This upcoming week that started yesterday.. Superfresh has Nestle's 24pk (500ml) Pure Life for $3.50. Meanwhile their sister supermarket Pathmark is selling Poland Spring 24pk (500ml) for $3.99. What a gag! I don't like what APTea has done. It seems the average price of items at their Pathmarks have went up considerably.

For the week that's ending today, ShopRite has Poland Spring (500ml) 24pk for $3.77 on sale.

I see that prices are still cheap like the summer deals we were seeing a few months ago. Interstingly, these products, again, are under the same company in Nestle Waters NA

WHAT is that smell?

Apparently, the New Jersey Pine Barrens
are a blaze; again..

Phew.. we're getting that smell all the way over where? HERE!

I knew something was up last night when I was outdoors. When I got home
I still smelled the odor of wood burning. Then today it's everywhere in
this city; we now know the barrens are the culprit.

MLB.COM...you didn't cover your bases...

So I was watching checking out MLB.com last night on my Mac. I saw this
link on their site that stated watch the game Live. I clicked on it and
VOILA.. the World Series, game 2 was playing LIVE. and there were like
4 different camera angles. Somehow, I was able to save a clip of the
broadcast. Now don't ask me how, I just was able to save the broadcast.
After awhile, I left and returned to my Mac and saw the Safari "Quit
Unexpectedly" oh well. can't win em all. But in all, I think I have a
clip of like 5 minutes of game 2. Later I checked out the site on my
WinXP machine and guess what, there was a blocked screen that gave
options to BUY the worl d series package. I was like, no way, why on my
Mac could I watch the game FOR FREE?

Well if that's another reason to use Macs more than Windows, THAT WAS
IT! hahahaha.. poor exclusive PC users. You just don't know what you're
missing.

Lost and found

I lost something 2 days ago and I had to trace back my steps. I was lucky to have found what I lost.
Buys:
dish detergent = $2.19 blue bunny vanilla = $6.49 (Pathmark had them lined up 2nite, so you know starting tomorrow 10/24/08 they're going to be on sale. I'm going to guess they'll be $2.50. Let's see as I go check next week's circular at 9:02pm EDT.....hold please...it's a boring BOGO sale.

Future predictions....

I may be going out on a limb, but I feel that the following will come
to pass
1) Apple will open their iPhone up to other US Mobile carriers.
2) Apple will have to eventually supplant the iPhone with another
communications device
(I'm betting on somthing named "aPod"... a for access, awesome, apple.
can go on and on)
3) (just because all things in three's, lemme think this out. OK. the Farrah will make a comeback hehehe)

Walgreens gallon waters are cheap!

Gallon of water for sale this week 10/19-10/25. It's going for $0.69

(coupon) out and just have to buy up to 3 are allowed with the coupon.

Vote!

A snapshot from my old camera phone circa Fall 2004. This was the Sean
Combs "Vote or Die!" campaign. I just had to snap the pic of Mariah who,
as usual, reveals a bit too much.. But I like it! hehehe. So this is a
reminder for the upcoming Fall 2008 Election day which occurs Tuesday,
Nov 4th.

Ice cream

This company changed recipes so I no longer buy their brands of ice cream. Instead, I buy Friendly's Ice Cream 1.75 qt "Classic Chocolate" or "Forbidden Chocolate" or "Cookies N Cream"
and I now buy Blue Bunny's "Natural Vanilla" or "Cookies N Cream"

Trip to the market

I think I want to start recording what I paid for items I used regularly.
What possessed me to do this? Well, I am in need of trash bags, yeah, been using those cheapo plastic grocery bags as a stop gap measure until I would buy those 30 gal types. My nose seems to bleed every time I buy them, the prices for trash bags are ridiculous,so here I am recording what I paid for, where and quantity. This time it was Shoprite, ala Wakefern Corporation. I got the store brand 10 bags for $1.50. That was the sale price, now they had a big box of 40 for $6, well that's the same as the 10bags x 4 so I just got a couple of the 10box. I also got the following
Friendly's "Classic Chocolate" Ice Cream (1.75qt) x 2 @ $2.99
Crest Multicare Whitening Toothpaste 6.2oz x 2 @ $1.99 on sale reg. $3.29
Freihofer's 100% Whole Wheat bread 24oz @ $1.79 (orig. $2.38)
1 cucumber @ $0.79ea
1 green pepper @ 1.49/lb = $0.88
1 pack Italian Sweet Sausage w/ Broccoli Rabe (store packed, 3lg links) @ $2.99/lb = $2.24
Trix cereal = $1.97 (10.7oz box ..... hmm, wasn't this just 12oz recently.. umm hmm I see what you're going General Mills!)
3 Plum tomatoes @ 1.69/lb = $1.27
Organic Valley 1/2 gal organic fat free milk = $3.99!!! (too expensive, I should've opted for the Stonyfield Farm which was like $3.79. and that's gotten expensive, both these were around $3.49 and would be on sale for $3.29 occasionally. Although, if yo go to any other market, the Organic Valley 1/2 gals are over $4.

Incidentally, 24pks of bottled water of polad spring are going for $3.99 now. So the summer prices of $3.33-$3.88 are probably over. I'll keep us posted though.

Word of the day is...

The word of the day is CAPITULATION. According to my OS' built in dictionary, it means basically to surrender or stop resisting. I've been hearing that word in the financial sector lately. How would you use this in a sentence? Ok. Until the current and dire economic situation hits capitulation, the us economy will suffer with no growth, higher prices and high unemployment.
Ohh well, you get the idea.

Talk isn't the only thing that's cheap..

So now I've found a special place in downtown philly that sells 1.5 liter DEER PARK bottles for yes.. $1.00. They also sell the POLAND SPRING 1.5 liter for the same price. I'm not telling where just in case anyone would want to swoop down on my unmentioned store. The next day, I find check out a Dollar General store and find that they sell 1.5 liter Crystal Geyser Alpine Spring water bottles for only 55cents!!! or $0.55. That's the cheapest I've ever paid for a 1.5 liter bottle of water.
(Update: Poland Spring and Deer Park are under the same parent company of Nestle Waters North America)
